JEANNA JANE CHUA
Jeanna Jane Chua is a Markham-based floral artist and event designer serving Toronto and the GTA. Known for her whimsical, distinctive style, she brings storytelling and artistry to every design. Jeanna began her artistic journey with resin art, specializing in flower preservation, before expanding into fresh floral design and large-scale installations. Through her studio, Happy Fairy Art, she offers flower preservation, resin art, and custom event florals, blending her passion for art and nature in every project.
Jeanna gained recognition through her participation in Fleurs de Villes, an international floral exhibition where every mannequin is created using 100% botanical materials—fresh and dried flowers only, never silk. Her installations earned the Most Creative Award in both 2023 and 2024. In 2025, her artistry was further recognized with the Best in Show mannequin award (Spring 2025) and the Fan Favourite award at the Royal Botanical Gardens (September 2025)—a public-voted honour celebrating her floral mannequin of Lady Mary Crawley from Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, created for the film’s promotion.
At the heart of Jeanna’s creative process is her approach to floral selection: she chooses flowers based on colour palette first, allowing textures and forms to emerge naturally. This method gives her work its signature originality—an ever-changing balance of colour, texture, and movement that makes each piece unique.
In an interview, Jeanna shared her journey from resin art to floral design, emphasizing the energy she draws from fellow designers and mentors who continue to shape her unique approach to art and business. Her practice has also been guided by mentorship under Preston Bailey, the world-renowned master of floral and event design.
